Ayellet Segrè’s research group, based in the Department of Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the Ocular Genomics Institute and affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the Broad Institute, is focused on developing and applying computational and statistical methods that integrate large-scale human genetics, single cell and functional genomics and systems biology data to uncover the causal genes and regulatory mechanisms of complex diseases, with a focus on common eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
